Scottish Sensor Systems Centre

Projects

The Centre brings together existing academic networks with companies of any size with a Scottish base interested in the sensor system supply chain and sensor technologies. We focus on funding R&D activities which meet our objectives to:

  • Accelerate innovation in intelligent sensor networks and sensor systems technologies, applications and services by implementing effective knowledge exchange between academic and industry participants.
  • Provide direction and context into research and development activity in the academic community, based on the needs of industry.
  • Build and maintain a community of companies able to adopt and exploit new technologies, knowledge and opportunities.

Grants of up to £40K are available. Projects must be collaborative – an academic institution with industry or a similar commercial or governmental body.  Collaborating partners must contribute tangible resources (cash or in-kind) to each project.

When considering a proposal, we focus on projects that addresses a specific problem, particularly with evidence of demand, has end-user engagement and support, and can demonstrate potential routes to impact, including markets.
